I started Kate's Canine Training because I've been in your shoes. My journey into dog training began with my own naughty dog, Piper. After trying training classes at a big-box pet store, I realized we needed something more. After many chaotic walks—each ending in tears, countless destroyed belongings, and diminishing sanity—I decided to enroll her in a three week Board & Train Program. The results completely changed our lives. As her behavior improved, my frustration faded, and I learned how to communicate with her on a deeper level. That experience sparked my passion for helping other dog owners find the same relief and connection. Piper went from being a significant challenge to becoming an exceptional dog—serving as my demo dog , helping me coach hundreds of struggling dogs and owners, and demonstrating what real change is possible with consistent work.
After training with several large companies, I knew I wanted to create a different kind of training experience—one that focused on an individualized, balanced approach rather than a one-size-fits-all method. No crowded facilities or overstressed dogs—just thoughtful, effective training in a home environment with personalized attention. Thus, Kate's Canine was born.
As a owner of three Siberian Huskies, I have a special appreciation for high-energy and more challenging breeds. My mission is to strengthen the bond between dogs and their people, giving them more freedom and confidence to live their best lives together—without all the chaos.
Training Programs
Board & Train Program
Our premier in-home Board and Train program offers an exclusive, immersive experience designed for complete behavioral transformation. During the 2 or 3 week program, your dog becomes a member of my household and pack. This is our most in-demand program—for good reason! This program is intentionally limited to 1-2 dogs per session, allowing for exceptional focus, care, and results. At pickup, you’ll be guided through implementing your dog’s new skills into daily life with clarity and confidence. Your investment includes daily updates, lifetime support through unlimited follow-up lessons. All training tools used during the program are also provided.
Private Lessons
Enjoy personalized, one-hour private lessons in the comfort of your home. Each program is thoughtfully designed to address your dog’s unique challenges and support your ultimate training goals. Choose between five or eight sessions focused on building reliable on-leash or off-leash obedience. Each program includes weekly homework, customized training guidance, and any tools that best suit your dog during their program.

Absolutely! I understand that every dog is unique, so we welcome specific training goals to address your dog's unwanted behavior in addition to obedience commands.
